Thinking of You – CAS(E) this Sketch #110

It was exciting to receive an honorable mention at CAS(E) this Sketch for the card in my last post. Many thanks to the designers over there. I also appreciate all the kind comments.

They have another great sketch this week, CAS(E) this Sketch #110 by Leigh Penner. I always enjoy Leigh’s blog, to the full. This sketch has been more challenging for me. I played around with some grey ink and paper and this big flower stamp and ended up with this monochromatic Thinking of You card. I’m not entirely happy with that it yet  I’m hopeful I’ll get more time or more inspired- or both.

Happy 18 – CAS(E) this Sketch 109

Just a little note – Retro Sketches #146

This paper from My Mind’s Eye is some of my favorite right now. I love the colors and it reminds me of my girl and makes me smile. I used it to paper piece the cute hedgehog from Unity and layered it similar to Retro Sketches #146.

You Are My Happ- SYS2 bonus day

I’m catching up on the Stretch Your Stamps 2 lessons from Online Card Classes. I’ve spent a couple afternoons in the last couple weeks playing with ‘color me’ stamps. I gave this card to the man who makes me most happy on our 21st wedding anniversary. It’s similar in design to Stephanie Klauk’s card from the SYS2 bonus day. I also used her mirror stamping technique to create the frogs.

Supplies

Cardstock

Patterned paper: The Sweetest Thing, My Mind’s Eye

Stamps: Hero Arts

Ink: Hero Arts black dye ink

Other: vellum, silver embossing powder, Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella pen, colored pencils, gamsol

Today, I played with this cute elephant, making a baby card and a thinking of you card. Similar to the technique Debby Hughes shared on the bonus day of SYS2, I used Distress Inks on watercolor paper to create a watercolor wash that I stamped the elephant and balloon on. I then fussy cut them out and paper pieced them together.

Supplies

Cardstock

Patterned paper: Serendipity, Heidi Swap

Stamps: Hero Arts

Ink: Distress Inks- weathered wood, worn lipstick, mustard seed

Other: watercolor paper, gems, Wink of Stella pen
