I am pleased to have put together a couple scrapbook pages this weekend. First, my son finished his first bowling season and I was eager to document it.
I used Echo Park’s All About a Boy line, with a little bit of the Doodlebug Take Note paper. I also used Bazzill card stock and my Silhouette Cameo to cut the ball and pins.
Also, since we’re celebrating my daughter’s 14th birthsay, I thought I should get her 13th birthday photos in an album. I added photos to the pages I created in Bella Blvd’s Lovin’ Life Layoutsmworkshop at scrapfest using their Engaged at Last and Love and Marriage lines. I also created a second page with a We Are Memory Keepers pocket page.
Scrapfest was this past weekend at Mall of America. It’s an event I look forward to each year. Three days of workshops, make and takes, and new products. I’ve started adding an extra day at the end so that I can have some time in my craft room to try out the new techniques I’ve learned and play with the new stuff I’ve collected. It’s a fun and refreshing weekend.
So, I have a few things to share. One of my favorite card workshops was ‘Groovy Mini Cards’ by Archiver’s. We used cling stamps by Unity to make these cards. I love those sticklers on the paint can.
Then, at home, I spent a little more time playing with the stamps and came up with this.
The design and colors were inspired by the Case Study Challenge #158. I’m going to submit it there later tonight.
I also enjoyed the “Lovin’ Life” pages workshop by Bella Blvd. We made two really cute, not wedding-related pages and a card using their Love and Marriage line. I had to make some modifications to the design though because I do not like feathers. I know they’re trendy right now, but they just don’t do it for me. It’s something about the way they feel. And, that they’re from birds.
For the pages, I just left them off. I may add another embellishment in that spot after I add photos to the pages, or I may not. The feather was a really prominent part of the card, though I had to give some thought to what to replace it with. I finally settled on a cluster of embellishments, including a sentiment from the groovy Unity stamps. It’s hard to read in the photo, but it says “you color my world. ”
